About
Janis Ko is a litigation lawyer at McLellan Herbert Locke who has practiced exclusively in the area of estates, trusts and elder law for over a decade.
Janis has an undergraduate degree in cell and molecular biology from Simon Fraser University and a law degree from the UBC Allard School of Law. Prior to joining McLellan Herbert Locke, Janis practiced at a large international law firm in Vancouver with a team of leading estate and trust lawyers.
Janis has presented and written papers for The Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, and the Pacific Business Law Institute. Janis is also a co-author of the CLE textbook Estate Disputes in British Columbia: A Litigator’s Guide.
Janis is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and a Past Chair of the CBA Wills and Trusts Vancouver subsection.
Outside of the practice of law, Janis enjoys cycling, paddleboarding, and tending to her numerous houseplants. Janis speaks Cantonese at a conversational level.
