About
Jeff Locke is a Partner with McLellan Herbert Locke. Jeff practices primarily in the areas of wills and estates litigation, appearing before all levels of court in BC to assist executors, trustees, beneficiaries, and next-of-kin in resolving the various disputes that arise in that arena. He also regularly acts on contentious matters involving elderly, incapable, and/or vulnerable persons, helping families navigate these consistently complicated waters. He has been recognized by “Best Lawyers in Canada” for his work in trusts and estates.
Jeff regularly speaks at legal education events, was an adjunct professor at Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC for over 10 years, and has volunteered his time with both the University of Victoria and Thompson Rivers University law schools. He recently contributed two chapters to Estate Disputes in British Columbia: A Litigator’s Guide on the validity and interpretation of wills, is one of the general editors of Financial and Estate Planning for the Mature Client in British Columbia, and is a contributor to Professional Legal Training Course’s Practice Materials with respect to the validity of wills and wills variation claims. Jeff is also a member of the Planned Giving Committee for the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.
Outside of the office, Jeff enjoys spending time with his young family and menagerie of pets.
