Sara practices in the areas of wills, trusts, estates, and elder law. She holds the TEP designation, having completed the diploma program of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a global professional body comprised of lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, and other practitioners that help families plan for their future. Prior to joining McLellan Herbert Locke, Sara practiced in the area of wills, estates, and trusts at a leading international law firm. Her focus is estate planning and administration, though she has a background in litigation. Sara is currently serving as Past Chair of the Canadian Bar Association Wills & Trusts Vancouver Section Executive Committee, Student Liaison of the STEP Vancouver Branch Executive Committee, and Deputy Chair of the STEP Canada Student Liaison Committee. She is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Vancouver, the BC Cancer Foundation’s Trusted Advisor Circle, and the Board of Directors of North Van Arts. Sara is a contributing author to several publications including Continuing Legal Education BC’s Estate Planning & Wealth Preservation Manual, the Professional Legal Training Course’s Practice Materials on Wills, and Financial and Estate Planning for the Mature Client in British Columbia. She is recognized by “Best Lawyers in Canada” for trusts and estates.
